PI4K2B lipid kinase는 phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase family (PI4K)에 속하며, phosphatidylinositol을 인산화하여 phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate를 생성합니다. 이 분자는 여러 중요한 신호전달 및 구조적 역할을 하는 전구체로 작용합니다.
PI4K2B는 주로 세포질에 존재하며, 막으로 이동하여 phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate 합성을 촉진합니다. PI4K2B는 phosphatidylinositol을 주 기질로 사용하며, phosphatidylinositol monophosphates에는 활성도가 없습니다. 또한 PI4K2B는 일부 백혈병 환자에서 제한적 minor histocompatibility antigen으로 보고되었습니다.
