Target Information
Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases with diverse physiological functions. Many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and have potential as novel cancer and disease biomarkers.
The KLK10 gene, one of fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located on chromosome 19, encodes a secreted protein that may suppress tumorigenesis in breast and prostate cancers. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein.
