Target Information
The FKBP25 protein is a member of the immunophilin family involved in immunoregulation and cellular processes such as protein folding and trafficking. It functions as a cis-trans prolyl isomerase that binds immunosuppressants FK506 and rapamycin, as well as histone deacetylases, transcription factor YY1, casein kinase II, and nucleolin. FKBP25 has a higher affinity for rapamycin than FK506 and may play a key role in rapamycin-mediated immunosuppression.
