UCN2 (Urocortin 2)는 단백질 코딩 유전자로, Body Mass Index Quantitative Trait Locus 11과 관련이 있습니다. GPCR 신호전달 및 Kainate 수용체의 시냅스 전 기능과 연관된 경로에 관여합니다.
이 유전자는 sauvagine/corticotropin-releasing factor/urotensin I 계열에 속하며, corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) 유전자와 구조적으로 유사합니다. 생성된 단백질은 CRF type 2 수용체의 내인성 리간드로 작용하며, 뇌에서 스트레스가 식욕에 미치는 영향과 관련될 수 있습니다.
유전자 패밀리 이름과 달리, 이 유전자의 산물은 urotensin II와 서열상 유사성이 없습니다.
