Target Information
Initiation of transcription by RNA polymerase II requires the assistance of TATA box-binding protein (TBP) and TBP-associated factors (TAFs, e.g., TAF2B), forming two distinct complexes: TFIID and B-TFIID.
The TFIID complex consists of TBP and multiple TAFs, while the majority of TBP exists in the B-TFIID complex, composed of TBP and TAFII170 (TAF172), which possesses DNA-dependent ATPase activity.
