Target Information
The SWI-SNF complex is involved in the activation of transcription via nucleosome remodeling in an ATP-dependent manner. Brm (SNF2α) and Brg-1 (SNF2β) serve as ATPase subunits of the mammalian SWI-SNF complex. The functional core includes Brm, Brg-1, Ini1 (Integrase interactor 1/SNF5), BAF155 (SRG3), and BAF170. Ini1, BAF155, and BAF170 enhance remodeling activity when added to Brg-1. Other subunits may play regulatory roles. hSNF2L and hSNF2H are homologs of Drosophila ISWI, present in chromatin remodeling complexes such as NURF.
