Target Information
Galectins are a family of beta-galactoside-binding proteins involved in modulating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. Expression of Galectin 4 is restricted to small intestine, colon, and rectum, and is underexpressed in colorectal cancer. Galectin 4 binds lactose and related sugars and may play a role in adherens junction assembly.
