Target Information
EDG7 (also known as LPAR3) is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family and part of the EDG family of proteins. It functions as a receptor for lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) and mediates LPA-evoked calcium mobilization. This receptor primarily couples to G(q/11) alpha proteins.
EDG7 expression has been reported in human prostate, and in rodent brain, kidney, lung, placenta, prostate, and testis. ESTs have been isolated from normal prostate and cancer libraries of the head/neck, ovary, and thyroid.
