The allophycocyanin (APC)-Alexa Fluor™ 750 dye tandem conjugate allows for multicolor measurements using excitation by lasers that emit from 633 to 650 nm.
Target Information
Cluster of differentiation 8 (CD8) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin receptor family, essential for T cell signal transduction, differentiation, and activation.
CD8 is mainly expressed on T cells as a disulfide-linked heterodimer (CD8α/CD8β) acting as a co-receptor with TCR for MHC-I molecules.
It is also found on subsets of T cells, NK cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells as CD8α homodimers.
Engagement of MHC-I/peptide complexes triggers Lck recruitment, leading to lymphokine production and cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) activation.
Activated CTLs are crucial for pathogen and tumor cell clearance, and their differentiation is enhanced by IL-2, IL-12, and TGF-β1.
