Cytokeratin pan belongs to the intermediate filament protein family, exhibiting notable biochemical diversity. In human epithelial tissues, at least 20 different cytokeratin polypeptides are expressed, with molecular weights ranging from 40–68 kDa and isoelectric points between pH 4.9–7.8.
