Target Information
ARHGEF11 is a 1527 amino acid protein containing tandem DBL homology and pleckstrin homology domains, a PDZ domain, two proline-rich sequences, and a regulatory G protein-signaling (RGS) sequence.
It acts as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for RhoA GTPase, but not for RAC1 or CDC42, and as a GTPase-activating protein (GAP) for GNA12 and GNA13.
ARHGEF11 forms complexes with G proteins and mediates neurite retraction through Rho-dependent signaling. It enhances glutamate transport by interacting with EAAT4 and regulates its activity and synaptic distribution.
Overexpression induces actin cytoskeleton reorganization, membrane ruffling, and filopodia formation.
It is ubiquitously expressed in brain, lung, liver, kidney, and skeletal muscle.
