This antibody reacts with both mouse Esrp-1 and Esrp-2 proteins.
A BLAST analysis of the immunizing protein sequence shows 100% homology with Esrp-1 from mouse and 91% sequence homology with Esrp-1 from human, pig, rat, opossum, horse, cattle, panda, dog, and chimpanzee.
The binding epitope of this monoclonal antibody has not been mapped.
Target Information
RBM35A, also known as ESRP2, is an mRNA splicing factor that, together with its related protein RBM35A (ESRP1), coordinates an epithelial cell-type-specific splicing program.
Both RBM35B and RBM35A are involved in posttranscriptional regulation of several genes such as FGFR2, CD44, CTNND1, and ENAH.
They exert differential effects on protein translation via 5′ UTRs of mRNAs, acting as global regulators of epithelial regulatory networks.
Loss of this ESRP-regulated epithelial splicing program induces phenotypic changes in cell morphology observed during epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).
