Product Specific Information
PA1-211A detects thyroid receptor (TR) from human, mouse, rat, and chicken samples.
This antibody does not detect TRα2 or TRβ1.
PA1-211A has been successfully used in Western blot, IHC-P, ICC/IF, and gel shift assays.
In Western blot, it detects a ~48 kDa protein representing recombinant human TRα1 expressed in E. coli.
Gel shift experiments show reactivity with TRα1 homodimers and TRα1/retinoic X receptor (RXR) heterodimers.
The immunizing peptide corresponds to amino acid residues 403–410 of human TRα1, a sequence fully conserved between human and rat TRα1.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear hormone receptor for triiodothyronine (T3).
It mediates the biological activities of thyroid hormone and exhibits functional diversity among receptor isoforms.
Knockout studies in mice suggest partially redundant but distinct roles of each receptor type.
Alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms with unique functions.
