Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid F-box motif. The F-box proteins are subunits of the ubiquitin protein ligase complex SCFs (SKP1-cullin-F-box), which function in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
The F-box proteins are divided into three classes:

• Fbws: containing WD-40 domains
• Fbls: containing leucine-rich repeats
• Fbxs: containing other protein–protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs

The FBXO7 protein belongs to the Fbxs class and may play a role in the regulation of hematopoiesis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been identified, though only some full-length forms are determined.
