Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family, characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid F-box motif. F-box proteins are part of the SCF (SKP1-cullin-F-box) ubiquitin ligase complex, which mediates phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
F-box proteins are classified into three groups:
- Fbws: Contain WD-40 domains
- Fbls: Contain leucine-rich repeats
- Fbxs: Contain other protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs
The FBXL7 protein belongs to the Fbls class and contains several tandem leucine-rich repeats in addition to the F-box domain.
