The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% (by SDS-PAGE).

Target Information

HFE2 is involved in iron metabolism and may participate in the signaling pathway that activates hepcidin or modulate its expression. It could act as a receptor for hepcidin. Mutations in this gene cause hemochromatosis type 2A (juvenile hemochromatosis), an early-onset autosomal recessive disorder characterized by severe iron overload leading to hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, hepatic fibrosis or cirrhosis, and cardiomyopathy, typically occurring before age 30.
