Target Information
EPHB1 is a receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the ephrin receptor family. Members of this family are involved in key biological processes such as nervous system development, angiogenesis, and synapse formation. EphB1 and related proteins are type I transmembrane proteins composed of immunoglobulin, fibronectin type III, and cysteine-rich domains in the ectodomain, and a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase domain followed by a SAM domain. EphB family proteins bind ephrin-B class ligands, which are also transmembrane signaling molecules. EphB1 is mainly expressed in developing neural tissues and vascular endothelium, regulating cell adhesion and assembly upon ephrin-B1 binding. These proteins are implicated in neuronal and vascular targeting.
