Target Information

CD180 (RP105, Bgp95, LY64) is a type I membrane glycoprotein of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family. The CD180 cytoplasmic tail is short and lacks the TIR domain found in other TLRs. CD180 expression depends on coexpression with MD-1 and mirrors that of TLR4 on antigen-presenting cells.
CD180 regulates LPS recognition and signaling in B cells by interacting with the TLR4 signaling complex, inhibiting microbial ligand binding. Ligation of CD180 by monoclonal antibodies leads to B cell activation, upregulation of CD80/CD86, and increased cell size.
The extracellular domain contains leucine-rich repeats (LRR) and forms part of the RP105/MD-1 receptor complex. CD180 dysfunction has been associated with Kawasaki disease and may contribute to rheumatic disease pathology.
