Target Information
Beta-3 Adrenergic Receptor is primarily located in adipose tissue and plays a key role in the regulation of lipolysis and thermogenesis. Beta adrenergic receptors mediate epinephrine and norepinephrine-induced activation of adenylate cyclase via G proteins. Expression of the beta-3 Adrenergic Receptor has been observed in adipose tissues, heart, and smooth muscles of the digestive and urinary tract (including bladder, colon, small intestine, stomach, and ureter). Alternate promoter usage or 3′ untranslated regions may contribute to tissue-specific expression regulation.
