Product Specific Information

Qdot™ Antibody conjugates exhibit bright fluorescence emission, suitable for detecting low-abundance extracellular proteins. They are similar in size to R-phycoerythrin (R-PE) and compatible with organic fluorophore conjugates.
These conjugates can be excited by UV or violet light and feature narrow, symmetric emission profiles with minimal compensation requirements. The long Stokes shifts enable efficient multicolor assays using a 405 nm laser.

Staining Guidelines:

• Use standard staining buffers (e.g., PBS with 1% BSA).
• Analyze cells within 18 hours of staining.
• Dilute reagent only for same-day use.
• Compatible with Cal-Lyse™ and FIX & PERM™ reagents.
• Avoid BD FACS™ Lysing Solution, which may interfere with fluorescence.

Instrument Setup:

• Optimal excitation: UV or 405 nm (can also use 488 nm).
• Recommended filter for Cat. No. Q10064: 780/60 nm.
• Ensure proper emission filters for detection.

Storage & Stability:

• Store at 2–8°C in the dark.
• Do not freeze.
• Shelf life: 6 months from receipt (unless stated otherwise).
• Qdot conjugates are photostable but minimize light exposure when used with conventional fluorochromes.
• Contains cadmium and selenium; dispose per local regulations.

Target Information

CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It acts as a multifunctional receptor for lipopolysaccharides (LPS) and can be released in soluble form. CD14 interacts with LBP for LPS binding and plays roles in immune responses, apoptosis recognition, and inflammatory processes.
Associated diseases include Mycobacterium chelonae infection and croup.
Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding the same isoform.
