Target Information
Histones are nuclear proteins that play an important role in maintaining the structure of the chromosome in eukaryotes. The nucleosome is composed of approximately 146 bp of DNA wrapped around a histone octamer consisting of four major histones: H2A, H2B, H3, and H4.
H2A plays an essential role in centromere assembly and gene regulation. The protein can be modified by acetylation and phosphorylation.
