This antibody detects endogenous levels of total DNA Ligase III.

Target Information

There are four distinct DNA ligase proteins found in mammalian cells. Their activity is essential for joining DNA strand breaks that occur during replication, repair, and recombination.
DNA Ligase III migrates as a 100 kDa (α-form) protein in somatic tissues, is ubiquitously expressed, and forms a complex with XRCC-1. A 97 kDa (β-form) variant is found in testis.
DNA Ligase III plays a key role in rejoining DNA single-strand breaks and in the base excision repair pathway.
