Target Information
F-box proteins are critical components of the conserved ubiquitin-protein ligase complex SCF (Skp1/Cdc53-Cullin1/F-box), which recruits substrates for ubiquitination and subsequent degradation through specific protein-protein interaction domains. Novel human F-box proteins (FBG1–FBG5) form a subfamily expressed in limited human tissues including kidney, liver, brain, and muscle.
