Product Specific Information

This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:

  • Better specificity and sensitivity
  • Lot-to-lot consistency
  • Animal-origin-free formulations
  • Broader immunoreactivity due to the large rabbit immune repertoire

This antibody has specificity for Human KIM-1/TIM1/HACVR1.

Target Information

CD365 (Tim-1), also known as T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain 1, is a type I surface glycoprotein composed of an extracellular N-terminal immunoglobulin V-like domain, a mucin domain, and a short cytoplasmic tail.
The endogenous ligand for CD365 is Tim-4.

CD365 acts as a receptor or co-receptor for several viruses, including:

  • Hepatitis A and C viruses
  • Ebola virus
  • Marburg virus
  • Dengue virus
  • Zika virus
  • West Nile virus
  • Japanese encephalitis virus

Binding occurs via phosphatidylserine exposed on viral envelopes.
Polymorphisms in the human CD365 (HAVCR1) gene are associated with infection susceptibility and disease severity.
CD365 is involved in T cell co-stimulation and is primarily expressed in epithelial cells, as well as in A549, 769-P, and Caco-2 cell lines.
A soluble form of CD365 is generated by metalloproteinase-mediated proteolytic cleavage of the surface protein.
