Target Information
The WNT gene family consists of structurally related genes encoding secreted signaling proteins. These proteins are involved in oncogenesis and developmental processes such as regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis.
This gene encodes a protein with 94% and 80% amino acid identity to mouse Wnt5b and human WNT5A proteins, respectively.
Alternative splicing generates two transcript variants.
