For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD59 (Protectin) is a small (18–20 kDa) GPI-anchored, ubiquitously expressed inhibitor of the membrane attack complex (MAC). It regulates complement activation by preventing formation of the cytolytic pore on host cell membranes. CD59 binds complement C8 and/or C9, inhibiting incorporation of multiple C9 molecules required for pore formation. It also acts as a low-affinity ligand for CD2, contributing to T cell costimulation and lymphocyte signaling.
Mutations in the CD59 gene can cause CD59 deficiency, associated with hemolytic anemia, thrombosis, and cerebral infarction. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified.
