Recombinant Human LIF is a 19.7 kDa protein containing 180 amino acid residues, including three disulfide bonds.

Target Information
Leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) is a 20 kDa protein belonging to the IL-6 receptor family. It binds to a heterodimeric receptor composed of a LIF-specific subunit (gp190/LIFR) and the shared gp130 subunit.
LIF expression occurs in various tissues such as thymus, lung, and neuronal tissue. It can be up-regulated by pro-inflammatory cytokines (e.g., TNFα, IL-17). Elevated LIF levels have been observed in rheumatoid arthritis, neural injury, systemic inflammation, and tuberculosis.
LIF is known for inhibiting embryonic stem cell differentiation and supporting stem cell self-renewal. Human and mouse LIF share 79% sequence homology and exhibit cross-species activity, though LIF-mediated inhibition of stem cell differentiation is mouse-specific.
