Recombinant Human LIF is a 19.7 kDa protein containing 180 amino acid residues, including three disulfide bonds.

Target Information
Leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) is a 20 kDa protein belonging to the IL-6 receptor family. It binds to a heterodimeric membrane receptor composed of a LIF-specific subunit (gp190 or LIFR) and gp130, which is shared with other IL-6 family members.
LIF expression occurs in thymus, lung, and neuronal tissues, and can be up-regulated by cytokines such as TNFα and IL-17. Elevated LIF levels are associated with rheumatoid arthritis, neural injury, systemic inflammation, and tuberculosis.
LIF inhibits differentiation of embryonic stem cells and supports stem cell self-renewal. Human and mouse LIF share 79% sequence homology and exhibit cross-species activity, though stem cell differentiation inhibition is mouse-specific.
