The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using epitope-specific immunogen. Purity >95% as confirmed by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
CHIA degrades chitin and chitotriose, potentially involved in defense against nematodes and other pathogens. Three isoforms are produced by alternative splicing. Expression is induced via a Th2-specific, interleukin-13-mediated pathway in epithelial cells and macrophages. CHIA may play a key role in IL-13-induced responses in Th2-dominated disorders such as asthma. It hydrolyzes N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminide 1,4-beta-linkages in chitin and chitodextrins.
