For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The progesterone receptor (PR) is a member of the steroid family of nuclear receptors. It mediates the physiological effects of progesterone, essential for reproductive processes such as pregnancy establishment and maintenance.
PR exists as two isoforms:

• Form A (94 kDa)
• Form B (120 kDa)

PR-B is the transcriptionally active form, responsible for endometrial maintenance and inhibition of ovulation.
PR-A differs by a 165 amino acid deletion at the N-terminus, exposing an inhibitory domain that represses steroid hormone transcriptional activity.

In its inactive state, PgR forms a multiprotein complex with heat shock proteins and immunophilins. Upon progesterone binding, conformational changes allow dimerization and binding to progesterone response elements (PRE), activating transcription.
A null mutation in the PGR gene leads to pleiotropic reproductive abnormalities.
