Target Information
Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are part of the TGF-beta superfamily of signaling proteins involved in various physiological processes. BMP-10 is essential for embryonic heart development, promoting cardiomyocyte proliferation. It signals through receptor complexes such as BMPR-1A, BMPR-1B, ALK1, ALK3, and ALK6, activating SMAD1, SMAD5, or SMAD8 pathways, and also SMAD-independent mechanisms. BMP-10 is structurally related to BMP-9, both capable of inhibiting endothelial cell proliferation and migration.
