Target Information
Mammalian apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease (APE/ref-1)는 다기능성 효소로, 다양한 세포 기능에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
APE는 DNA의 abasic site 복구와 산화 신호, 전사 인자 조절(Fos, Jun, NF-κB, Myb, HIF-1α, CREB, Pax), 세포 주기 조절(p53), 세포사멸(apoptosis) 등 다양한 생물학적 과정에 관여합니다.
이 단백질은 발달 단계 및 조직에 따라 다르게 발현되며, 핵 내 DNA 복구 외에도 다양한 세포 단백질과 상호작용할 가능성이 있습니다.
또한 casein kinase II에 의해 인산화 조절을 받으며, 저산소 상태에서 산소가 재도입될 때 APE의 발현 증가가 관찰됩니다. 일부 악성 조직에서는 정상 조직보다 높은 수준으로 발현되며, 반대로 발현 감소는 세포사멸 유도와 관련이 있습니다.
