Target Information
Tyrosine phosphorylation plays a key role in mitogenic signal transduction from transmembrane receptors and oncogene tyrosine kinases. It is a primary mechanism in normal mitogenesis, cell cycle progression, and oncogenic transformation, while also being actively studied in differentiation and gap junction communication.
Antibodies that specifically recognize phosphorylated tyrosine residues are invaluable tools for studying tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins and related biochemical pathways. The FITC conjugate of clone pY20 anti-phosphotyrosine is particularly effective for detecting P-Tyr proteins in immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical protocols, especially where secondary antibody use may interfere with detection.
