Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages include:
- Better specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody has specificity for Mouse FDPS/Farnesyl Diphosphate Synthase.
Target Information
The isoprene biosynthetic pathway supplies the cell with cholesterol, ubiquinone, and various nonsterol metabolites. The farnesylpyrophosphate synthetase enzyme catalyzes the formation of geranyl and farnesylpyrophosphate from isopentenylpyrophosphate and dimethylallyl pyrophosphate.
Analysis of FDPS activity and protein in rat liver, accompanied by immunofluorescence and immunoelectron microscopy studies, demonstrated that FDPS is predominantly localized in peroxisomes. Liver tissue from patients with peroxisomal deficiency diseases such as Zellweger syndrome and neonatal adrenoleukodystrophy exhibit diminished FDPS activity and subsequent isoprenoid synthesis.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
