Target Information
This gene encodes the human homolog of mouse morc and, like the mouse protein, it is testis-specific. Mouse studies indicate a testis-specific function, as only male knockout mice are infertile. The protein is believed to play a role early in spermatogenesis, potentially influencing apoptosis, as knockout mice testes show increased apoptotic cells.
