Target Information
TNK1 (Tyrosine Kinase, Non-Receptor 1) belongs to the tyrosine protein kinase family and plays a key role in intracellular signal transduction pathways that regulate cellular proliferation, survival, and development.
It is highly expressed in fetal tissues and at lower levels in certain adult tissues. TNK1 may function broadly in fetal development signaling pathways and more selectively in adult tissues.
TNK1 negatively regulates the Ras-Raf1-MAPK pathway, and knockout mice develop spontaneous tumors, suggesting its role as a tumor suppressor gene.
