Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of CtIP only when phosphorylated at Ser327.
Target Information
CtIP (RBBP8), a 125 kDa protein, interacts with the transcription repressor CtBP through the PLDLS motif, suggesting a role in transcription regulation. It also interacts with BRCA1 via the C-terminal BRCT domains, implicating CtIP as a potential tumor suppressor. The CtIP–BRCA1 interaction can be disrupted by DNA damage such as UV or gamma irradiation. ATM phosphorylates CtIP at Ser664 and Ser745; mutation of these sites prevents BRCA1 dissociation, leading to persistent repression of BRCA1-dependent GADD45 induction upon ionizing radiation.
