Target Information
The MRP family consists of nine similar ABC transporters capable of transporting structurally diverse lipophilic anions and functioning as chemical efflux pumps.
MRP7 (Multidrug Resistance-Associated Protein 7, ATP-binding cassette sub-family C member 10) is a multi-pass membrane protein belonging to the ABC transporter family (conjugate transporter subfamily).
It mediates ATP-dependent transport of 17β-estradiol-D-17-β-glucuronide (E217βG) and contributes to cellular detoxification through lipophilic anion extrusion.
MRP7 contains two ABC transmembrane type 1 domains and two ABC transporter domains, with three known isoforms. Isoform 2 is widely expressed, while isoform 1 is predominantly found in the spleen.
