Product Specific Information

This 13F12F2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human killer cell lectin-like receptor subfamily G, member 1 (KLRG1), a type II transmembrane inhibitory receptor belonging to the C-type lectin superfamily containing an ITIM domain.
KLRG1 is expressed on subsets of γδ T cells, NK (CD56^dim^), CD8+ and CD4+ T cells, primarily by effector/memory phenotype cells that are short-lived but capable of immediate effector function.
Cadherin-E, -N, and -R serve as ligands for KLRG1, and their interaction inhibits cytolytic activity and proliferation. The percentage of KLRG1-positive cells varies depending on antigen exposure.

Target Information

KLRG1 (Killer cell lectin-like receptor G1, MAFA, 2F1-Ag) is a homodimeric member of the lectin-like type II transmembrane receptor family that contains immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs) in its cytoplasmic domains.
These ITIMs interact with SH2 domains of phosphatases such as SHP-1.
KLRG1 acts as an inhibitory receptor expressed on NK cells and certain T cells, which are involved in tumor and virus-infected cell lysis and mediate humoral and cell-mediated immune responses.
