Target Information
Coagulation factor II (thrombin) receptor-like 1 (F2RL1) is part of the 7-transmembrane-region receptor family that couples to guanosine-nucleotide-binding proteins.
It belongs to the protease-activated receptor family and is activated by trypsin, but not by thrombin. Activation occurs via proteolytic cleavage of its extracellular amino terminus, creating a tethered ligand that activates the receptor.
The F2RL1 gene consists of two exons and is widely expressed in human tissues. The predicted protein sequence shows 83% identity with the mouse receptor sequence.
