Product Specific Information

This 7-3 (7) monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD258 (LIGHT), a 29-kDa type II transmembrane protein belonging to the TNF ligand superfamily related to lymphotoxin-β (LT-β).
LIGHT is expressed on activated T cells, especially CD8+ T cells, and plays roles in cell survival, inflammation, and tumor eradication. Upon binding to its ligand HVEM, LIGHT induces a costimulatory effect on T cells, enhancing proliferation and cytokine production. LIGHT can also interact indirectly with the LT-β receptor.

Target Information

Apoptosis, or programmed cell death, is a key process in cellular differentiation and development. It is induced by cytokines such as TNF and Fas ligand through their death domain-containing receptors (TNFR1 and Fas).
Signals are transduced by adapter molecules and proteases of the ICE/CED-3 family. A novel DD-containing molecule, Daxx (death associated protein 6), binds specifically to the Fas death domain, enhancing Fas-induced apoptosis and activating the JNK pathway. Daxx is widely expressed in human and mouse tissues, indicating its critical role in Fas signaling.
