Target Information
Musashi-1 (MSI1) is a member of the Musashi family of RNA-binding proteins involved in cell fate determination and maintenance of stem-cell state. These proteins regulate post-transcriptional gene expression and contain two conserved tandem RNA recognition motifs. In mammals, MSI1 is expressed in fetal kidney, brain, liver, lung, and in adult brain and pancreas. The human MSI1 gene is located on chromosome 12.
