Alexa Fluor™ Plus recombinant antibodies utilize proprietary dye chemistry for enhanced brightness and improved signal-to-noise ratio. These recombinant antibodies ensure high specificity and lot-to-lot consistency by cloning specific genes into an expression vector and expressing them in vitro.

Usage Tips:

• Centrifuge briefly before use and use only the supernatant to minimize nonspecific background.
• Tested in western blot, immunocytochemistry, and flow cytometry using 3T3-L1 and RAW 264.7 cells treated with mouse IFN-alpha.
• Recommended concentrations: ICC at 10 µg/mL; Flow cytometry ≤ 0.25 µg/test.
• Excitation: 553 nm; Emission: 568 nm; Laser: Yellow Laser.
• 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

ISG15 is a ubiquitin-like protein that plays a critical role in the innate immune response to viral infection through conjugation (ISGylation) or as a free protein. It is secreted from monocytes in response to type I interferons and promotes NK-cell proliferation and cytotoxicity. Expression is induced by IFN-α, IFN-β, or IFN-ω, and by viral infection such as influenza B. ISG15 functions both as a secreted cytokine and as an intracellular ubiquitin homolog. Mutations in the ISG15 gene can lead to Immunodeficiency 38 with basal ganglia calcification (IMD38).
