Target Information
TLR5는 Toll-like receptor 계열에 속하는 Type I 막 단백질로, 미생물 인자에 대한 선천 면역 반응에 관여합니다. 세균의 편모 단백질(flagellin)을 인식하며, MyD88 및 TRAF6을 통해 NF-κB 활성화, 사이토카인 분비, 염증 반응을 유도합니다.
TLR5는 간에서 높게 발현되며, 폐에서도 검출되고 대부분의 다른 조직에서는 낮은 수준으로 존재합니다.
TLR5 유전자는 Salmonella 감수성과 관련된 위치에 존재하며, 생쥐 계통에 따라 S. typhimurium 감염 저항성이 다르게 나타납니다.
또한, TLR5 신호를 방해하는 stop codon 다형성은 Legionnaires’ disease 감수성과 관련되어 있습니다.
