This antibody detects endogenous levels of c-Fos only when phosphorylated at Ser374.
Target Information
FBJ murine osteosarcoma viral oncogene homolog, commonly known as Cellular proto-oncogene Fos (c-Fos), belongs to the fos transcription factor family and is encoded by the C-FOS gene located on chromosome 14.
c-Fos forms a heterodimer with c-Jun to create the Activator Protein-1 (AP-1) transcription factor, which regulates genes involved in signal transduction, cell proliferation, and differentiation.
c-Fos is phosphorylated by various stimuli such as growth factors and insulin at multiple sites. ERK MAPK is a known upstream kinase for phosphorylation at Threonine 232, which influences nuclear localization and transcriptional activity of c-Fos.
