Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of FOXO1A only when phosphorylated at Ser249.
Target Information
FOXO1 (FKHR, Forkhead Box O1) belongs to the forkhead homeotic gene family of transcription factors. It can function as both a coactivator and corepressor of nuclear receptor activity via the LXXLL motif in its C-terminal region. Association with PAX3 is linked to alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. FOXO1 is involved in autophagy, myogenic differentiation, and acts as a key regulator of insulin signaling, oxidative stress response, and metabolic homeostasis. It binds to insulin response elements (IRE) and Daf-16 family binding elements (DBE) to regulate gene transcription. FOXO1 also influences bone mass, glucose metabolism, and hepatocyte gluconeogenesis by activating genes such as IGFBP1, G6PC, and PCK1. It functions downstream of CDK1, PKB/AKT1, and MST1 to regulate cell death.
