Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of MAPKAPK5 only when phosphorylated at Ser354.
Target Information
MAPKAPK5 (PRAK) is activated in response to cellular stress and pro-inflammatory cytokines. Its activity is regulated by p38 alpha and p38 beta. The protein is a member of the serine/threonine kinase family and is activated through phosphorylation by MAP kinases such as MAPK1/ERK, MAPK14/p38-alpha, and MAPK11/p38-beta. In vitro, it phosphorylates heat shock protein HSP27 at physiologically relevant sites. Two alternately spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
