Target Information
MACC1 (Metastasis Associated in Colon Cancer 1) is a key regulator of the hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)-MET receptor pathway, involved in cellular growth, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, angiogenesis, motility, and metastasis.
The MACC1 protein contains four domains (ZU5, SH3, and two C-terminal death domains) and is significantly upregulated in malignant tissues such as colon, liver, and lung metastases compared to normal tissues.
MACC1 serves as an early prognostic indicator for colon cancer metastasis and may act as a therapeutic target for colorectal cancer.
At least two isoforms of MACC1 are known to exist.
