Target Information
Parathyroid hormone receptor 1 (PTH1R) is a member of the G-protein coupled receptor family. It acts as a receptor for parathyroid hormone (PTH) and parathyroid hormone-like hormone (PTHLH). The receptor activity is mediated by G proteins that activate adenylyl cyclase and the phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system.
Defects in PTH1R are associated with Jansen’s metaphyseal chondrodysplasia (JMC), chondrodysplasia Blomstrand type (BOCD), and enchondromatosis.
Expression has been reported in bone, breast, brain, colon, gastrointestinal tract, kidney, liver, placenta, skin, umbilical cord, and uterus.
