Target Information
Palladin is a cytoskeletal protein required for the organization of the normal actin cytoskeleton. It plays roles in establishing cell morphology, motility, adhesion, and cell–extracellular matrix interactions. Palladin may act as a scaffolding molecule influencing both actin polymerization and the assembly of actin filaments into higher-order structures. It localizes to sites of active actin remodeling such as lamellipodia and membrane ruffles. Different isoforms of Palladin may have distinct functional roles. It is also involved in morphological and cytoskeletal changes during dendritic cell maturation.
